Shoreham Beach
Shoreham, New York, United States
This Long Island Sound beach off of North County Road has a first aid station and lifeguards on duty from 10am to 6pm during July 4 weekend and subsequent weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until September 5). There is a parking lot at the end of Valentine Road. Enjoy a wild diversity of flora and fauna in Shoreham thanks to the River Adur. The mudflats support wading gulls and birds, including the Ringed Plover, which breeds on the coastal shingle. The Church of the Good Shepherd, built in 1913, still stands. This is a Tier II beach.
