Mons Lake Beach Day Use and Campground is a 12-minute drive from the town of Smoky Lake. The lake is small with a sandy beach, swimming area, playground, and 8 campsites. The water quality is typical of Central Alberta, with clear waters becoming greener in the hotter summer due to algae growth with a potential for a blue-green algae bloom.

The lake boasts abundant Perch and Northern Pike. A boat launch is offered along with day picnic areas with fire pits.
