Foster's Branch - Mariner Point Park
Joppa, Maryland, United States

Foster's Branch is located within Mariner Point Park and flows on the opposite side of the peninsular from Town Creek. Mariner Point Park is the peninsular that lies between the Taylors and Foster Branch Creeks in Joppa. From the farthest Point within the Park, looking over the Bay, you can view the location of "Gilmor's Raid," also known as "The Magnolia Station Train Raid" during the Civil War.
We sample at Foster's Branch as an indicator for bacteria levels in the lower river into the Bay.
Mariner Point Park consists of woodland, meadow, and developed trails, attracting both hikers and bikers. The Park's amenities include a volleyball court, a playground, two pavilions, available grills, bathroom facilities and fishing piers. Additionally, the waterfront park has plenty of benches along the path for visitors to watch boaters and kayakers passing along the shore.
